Vera Tan made her debut in the SEA Games at a young age of 15, and bagged a gold medal in the 2013 and 2015 SEA Games. She then continued to represent Singapore at every edition of the SEA Games, Asian Games and World Championships after her debut. Vera was also became the first Singaporean to win a Gold medal at the 1st World Taijiquan Championships. Vera was a receipient of the SPEXscholarship from 2019-2022, which is awarded to athletes who have the potential to excel on the world stage.
