Samuel will make his competitive debut at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023. At the recent Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Samuel competed for Singapore's Under-17 men's foil team, which recently earned a historic gold medal.
