Ong Rayen made his debut at the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi as one of the seven finswimmers, representing the sport after a long absence. He set a new personal and national record in the Men 100m Bi-Fins and also, stepped up as the first swimmer in 4x100m Mixed Bi-Fins team to set the national record. At the CMAS Fin Swimming World Cup in Phuket, he set a new personal and national record in the Men 50m and 200m Bi-Fins and once again, rewriting the 4x100m Mixed Bi-Fins Relay and achieving a silver in the process.
