Joan Poh works as a Senior Staff Nurse at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and first debuted as a National Rower at the 2015 SEA Games Singapore. She responded to the government's call for healthcare workers' all hands on deck during the Covid-19 pandemic, returning to work at the hospital during the pandemic, while continueing to train towards the Tokyo 2021 Olympic qualification. At the same time, Joan took the opportunity to build up a team of rowers locally - some of whom are a part of the National Rowing squad today.
