TToh Wei Soong was first exposed to swimming at the age of six, as a form of therapy, since he was diagnosed with the rare condition of Transverse Myelitis when he was two. He soon fell in love with the experience of being in water, where he faced little restriction and could do things that he could not on land. Wei Soong also attributed his confidence and discipline to the training and victories he has had in swimming. Wei Soong has been swimming competitively since 2013, and trains under Coach Ang Peng Siong. In 2018, Wei Soong qualified for the Commonwealth Games and was the first para-athlete to win a Bronze medal. In the 2024 Citi Para Swimming World Series, he emerged victorious in the Men’s 50m Butterfly Multi-Class event. His philosophy in life is to “just race!”. Aside from competitive swimming, training and school Wei Soong is also a fashion magazine editor and publishing company owner.
