Gong Qianyun is an outstanding and dominant force in the local chess scene, holding an impressive record of nine Singapore Women's Chess Championship titles. Her dedication and skill have not only earned her recognition within Singapore but also provided her with the opportunity to represent her country on the Asian stage, most notably at the prestigious SEA games. In the 2019 SEA games, Qianyun achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the Gold medal in the Rapid category, Singapore's first gold medal in the SEA Games. In subsequent years, she continued to excel, securing the Silver medal in Rapid and the Bronze medal in Blitz during the 2021 SEA games.
